Brief biographies of the musicians

Fenia Christou (https://www.feniachristou.com/)
Christou is born in Thessaloniki but lives in Athens. Christou composes, performs, improvises and often writes the lyrics of her songs. She has composed music and songs either independently or for theatrical, or children's performances in collaboration with various institutions throughout Greece such as Onassis cultural center, ERT, K.Θ.B.E etc. In 2014, she received the First Prize for song creation with her song in a competition of the Onassis Foundation. In 2018, Metronomos released the album Εl3ven, which is Christou’s first complete studio record. She has collaborated with the Delphi Festival in 2018 as well as with K. Θ. B. E. and the Ministry of the Interior in 2020. Recently, she was invited to orchestrate and record some of her compositions with the ERT Contemporary Music Orchestra. She also independently released a song specifically dedicated to "Demetra of Lesbos", the Lady of Forgiveness, in 2021.

Alexis Bove (https://alexibove.wixsite.com/my-site?lang=el)
Born in Paris, Alexis Bove is a versatile cellist with extensive experience on the European music scene. Bove is an active chamber music performer, sharing the stage with Rotterdam Philharmonic soloists such as Cecilia Ziano, Julien Hervé, Juliette Hurel, Hed Yaron Meyerson, Roman Spitzer and others. Bove is also a member of "Ensemble Mir" since 2014, playing repertoire from romantic to contemporary music with various instrumental arrangements. Since 2020 Bove has been playing regularly with the Metropole Orkest, the world's leading pop and jazz orchestra, conducted by Jules Buckley and Vince Mendoza.

 

Christos Garmpidakis (fraternalairpro.com)
Garmpidakis started studying classical guitar as a child, soon, however, focused on progressive rock, new wave and ambient scenes. The influences are many, with the most decisive being those of Genesis, This Mortal Coil, David Bowie, Brian Eno, Ryouichi Sakamoto, Manos Hatzidakis, Mikis Theodorakis, Max Richter and Arvo Part. Garmpidakis has composed, produced, released and performed live original music for silent films and contemporary dance performances, as well as several studio albums and counting. Garmpidakis is a member of the music groups diamat and lyric of leaves. In April 2022 he founded the sole proprietorship FAir | Fraternal Air Productions

Stavros Lantsias (http://www.stavroslantsias.gr/)
Stavros Lantsias was born in Cyprus. He studied classical piano and music theory at the Hellenic Conservatory of Nicosia. Lantsias has collaborated with important musicians such as Elli Paspalla, Alkinoos Ioannidis, Orpheas Peridis, Eleni Karaindrou, Nikos Xydakis, Xaris Alexiou, Kostas Tournas, Christos Thivaios, David Lynch, Dionysis Savvopoulos and others. Lantsias’ first studio album is titled Return (1999) in which, on two compositions, the distinguished musician Haig Yazdjian participates as guest. In April 2002 he released his second personal work entitled The Journey of a Note. In December 2012 he created the "Stavros Lantsias trio" with the distinguished soloists Andreas Polyzogopoulos and George Kaloudis.

Nikos Sotiropoulos

Sotiropoulos is a composer, arranger and music producer. He has also been a school music teacher until recently; for over 35 years he taught children to love music, to be able to create their own musical instruments, connecting the past with the future, learning the history of music etc. Sotiropoulos introduced music technology and recordings in an organised studio at the school and created choirs, bands and vocal ensembles.

Angelos Theodorakis-Papangelidis (Angelos TP)
Theodorakis-Papagelidis was born in Athens and is a songwriter, with studies in classical guitar. He started recording his music in 2016 and in 2020 released his first album in English, titled Angelo's Bookstore. In 2020, he participated as a creator in a production by Onassis Stegi of Onassis Foundation where he presented with a five-member ensemble his compositions based on the poetry of Andreas Kalvos, Dionysios Solomos and Lord Byron. He also participates in the Folk Orchestra of Mikis Theodorakis, performing songs of his grandfather, Mikis Theodorakis.

Savina Yannatou (https://www.savinayannatou.com/)
Yannatou started her professional career singing on the show of the Third Program of ERT "Edo Lillipoupoli" in collaboration with L. Platonos (1978-81). Yannatou has collaborated with many Greek composers. Since 1994, with the group "Primavera en Salonico”, she has been performing songs from the Mediterranean and the Balkans at festivals all over the world and has recorded for the companies LYRA and ECM. She is engaged in free vocal improvisation in the field of free jazz. Yannatou has composed music for the National Theater, the K.TH.BE, the DIPETHE of Larisa and the Theater of Neos Kosmos. Her discography includes around thirty records, personal and participations.

Spyros Manesis (https://spyrosmanesis.com/)
Manesis is a jazz pianist from Athens. His studies include degrees in classical and jazz piano from the Athenaeum Conservatory (with teachers M. Aivazova, G. Kontrafouri, S. Syrro), Bachelor and Master in jazz piano from the Amsterdam Conservatory and a degree in Musicology from the EKPA. Manesis has released several records and toured many countries around the world. He is a jazz piano teacher at the Jazzart school and has taught at the Athenaeum and Music Practice conservatories and as a visiting professor at the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University.
